This activity set includes
collaboration with sub-regional,
regional and international
education and donor agencies,
as well as the maintenance
of existing mechanisms
for policy formulation
in the OECS sub-region.
These include:
The submission of
policy papers to the
Education Reform Council
through OETEC.
Broad consultation
on education policy
matters at the sub-regional,
regional and international
levels, in order to
minimize duplication
of effort and enhance
the sub-regional approach
to education reform.
Consultation and
facilitation of specialists
through Technical Advisory
Committees (TACs).
The activity set also
emphasizes the long-term
viability of the OERU,
as an effective manager
and facilitator of sub-regional
collaboration in the
implementation of education
reform. In the past,
a number of mechanisms
for generating revenue
for the OERU have been
suggested but not pursued.
Another attempt will
be made to identify and
evaluate at least one
mechanism aimed at establishing
the long-term viability
of the OERU.
