Education Reform Initiatives

Pillars for Partnership and Progress : Tthe OECS Education Reform Strategy 2010(2000) which follows on fromFoundation For the Future : The OECS Education Reform Strategy(1991) , the latter preceded and facilitated the establishment of the OECS Education Reform Unit.

The Ministers of Education of the OECS at their fourth Annual Meeting in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, decided that it was prudent and necessary to establish a sub-regional strategy for the reform of education in the OECS. Such a strategy would provide the basis for national development, the framework for sub-regional initiatives and a focal point for regional cooperation in education within the Caribbean. The following are profile of priority areas from which regional projects are developed for external funding.
