(Thursday, October 6th, 2011-Castries Saint Lucia) The OECS Secretariat's Trade Policy Unit and Geneva Mission convened a video conference on 23rd September with trade officials to commence preparations for the upcoming eighth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organisation which is scheduled for 15-17th December inGeneva,Switzerland.

The Director General of the OECS has congratulated the Government and people of Montserrat on the recent adoption of a new Constitution by that OECS Member State. 

As of midnight September 26, 2011 a new Constitution came into force for Montserrat featuring numerous improvements in respect of fundamental rights and freedoms, and the governance arrangements for that country. 

(Friday September 30^th 2011) Guided by the mandates given by the OECS Council of Tourism Ministers at their last meeting held in April 2011 in St. Kitts, the OECS Secretariat recently re-constituted the OECS Yachting Committee, which was previously dubbed the OECS Yachting Safety and Security Working Group. The inaugural meeting of the OECS Yachting Committee was convened on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. by videoconference.

OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, Thursday September 29^th  2011. The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Secretariat will from 4^th – 6^th October 2011 convene a meeting of OECS Directors of Statistics in St. Lucia to discuss OECS Statistical Developments in the context of the OECS Economic Union.
