The OECS/Export Development Unit is mandated to increase exports from the OECS markets to regional and international markets. In achieving its mandate the EDU delivers technical and financial assistance to a client base of over three hundred companies (300) geared at ensuring products and services for export are competitive.

OECS Trade Policy Unit Assists Grenada in CARICOM –Canada Negotiations PDF Print Email

GDA_ParticipantsCastries July 16TH 2010– Stake holders in Grenada’s trade industry say their concerns have been addressed as to whether OECS Member States have made an input in CARICOM/Canada Negotiations.

This after the OECS Secretariat’s Trade Policy Unit (OTPU) and Office of Trade Negotiations clarified several issues at a recent meeting in St. Georges. The OECS Secretariat in collaboration with the CARICOM Office of Trade Negotiations (OTN) recently convened a one-day National Consultation in Grenada to examine and discuss the negotiating issues arising from the CARICOM – Canada Negotiations.

WB_Mission_CatoCastries July 15TH 2010– A World Bank team recently visited St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines , to conduct the Supervision for the OECS E-Government for Regional Integration Program (EGRIP) in Castries and the Launch of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines project under the program (EGRIP-SVG). The mission comprised Mr. Juan Navas-Sabater (Team Leader, CITPO), Mr. Gurcharan Singh and Ms. Kashmira Daruwalla (Procurement, CITPO).

Signed and Sealed, OECS Member States Take the Bold Step Towards Economic Union. PDF Print Email

OECS_HEADS_APPLAUDCastries, St Lucia, Wednesday June 23rd, 2010. It started on June 18th 1981 when a group of countries in the Leeward and Windward islands committed to deepen cooperation among them by signing the Treaty of Basseterre that established the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, OECS.  Now, 29 years later, the Member States reinforced that commitment in Saint Lucia on OECS Day, Friday June 18th 2010, through the signing of the Revised Treaty of Basseterre Establishing the OECS Economic Union.

OECS to Host First Ever Seminar on Protected Areas PDF Print Email

NEMMA_ocean(OECS Secretariat, Castries, St Lucia) The OECS Secretariat will host an inaugural seminar on Protected Areas at the Coconut Bay Resort and Spa, in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia. The seminar will take place over a period of three days from July 5-7 2010.
