Following successful training sessions in the User Module of DevInfo, the OECS Secretariat in collaboration with UNICEF and the CARICOM Secretariat is conducting a training workshop in the application of the Database Administration Module of DevInfo.

The training will be in the most recent version of the software which is DevInfo 6.0.

This training is crucial to the OECS’s adaptation of DevInfo (i.e. OECSInfo) as the DevInfo 6.0 Database Administration application allows one to create DevInfo 6.0 databases which can be accessed using the DevInfo 6.0 User application.

Programme Officer at the OECS Secretariat’s Economic Affairs Division Sean Mathurin says, DevInfo, which is the User and Data Administration modules, is a powerful tool for organizing, storing and presenting data in a uniformed way thereby allowing data to be easily and quickly shared across government departments, agencies and development organizations. DevInfo Data Administration 6.0 contains many new advanced features which provide more flexibility for the user and streamlines the database creation process.

The one week workshop at the OECS Secretariat closes on Friday, September 11th 2009.

The OECS Secretariat provisionally intends to launch its initial adaptation of DevInfo (i.e. OECSInfo) in November 2009 in DevInfo 6.0. In so doing, the OECS Secretariat’s adaptation will be the first to be launched within the Caribbean region in the latest version, DevInfo 6.0.
