Dominica’s newly appointed Ambassador to the OECS, Mr. Charles Maynard. Mr. Maynard and Director General Dr. Len Ishmael  Director General Dr. Len Ishmael this week received Dominica’s newly appointed Ambassador to the OECS, Mr. Charles Maynard. Mr. Maynard presented his letter of accreditation from the President of Dominica His Excellency Dr. Nicholas Liverpool.

Mr. Maynard is a Trade and Tourism Consultant, former Cabinet Minister and Member of parliament, and has been active in a number of local and regional organizations. He was the Chairperson of the Committee responsible for establishing the Dominica-based OECS Export Development Unit (OECS-EDU), and has been a key player on issues affecting trade and services at the OECS level.

Mr. Maynard served as a Cabinet Minister in the Dominica government for fifteen years between 1980 and 1995 during which he held a number of portfolios including Trade, Industry and Tourism, Agriculture, Education, Health, Youth affairs, Sports and Culture.

The Dominica government says his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the OECS is based on the desire to maintain and strengthen the good relations prevailing between Dominica and the OECS.
