OECS Secretariat Opens Condolence Book for Late Dominica Prime Minister PDF Print Email

The OECS Secretariat has opened a condolence book to mark the death of the Honourable Pierre Charles, Prime Minister of Dominica.

The book has been opened at the Public Library in Castries , St. Lucia where it will be available for signing by members of the public until Wednesday, January 14 th .

Prime Minister Charles died suddenly on January 6 th after collapsing in his vehicle on the way home from work. He was 49 years old and had served as Prime Minister from October 1 st 2000 when he succeeded the Honourable Rosie Douglas who himself died suddenly in office.

The funeral service for Prime Minister Charles has been scheduled for Saturday 17 th January.

Director General Dr. Len Ishmael will lead the Secretariat's delegation to the funeral.

She is also scheduled to meet with new Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit on Friday 16 th .

Flags at the Secretariat will remain flying at half mast until the burial.
