The OECS Secretariat held a meeting on Tuesday with stakeholders in St. Lucia’s yachting sector to discuss plans to develop an Eastern Caribbean label for the sector. Stekeholders at Meeting in St. Lucia

The meeting is the third in a series being held in the OECS Member States following similar sessions with stakeholders in Grenada and St. Kitts Nevis.

Tuesday’s meeting also discussed promoting the Eastern Caribbean as a “shared space” by the yachting sector, as part of the process of widening and deepening the regional integration movement.  This involves a joint approach to promoting the sustainable use of marine resources by stakeholders in the yachting sector in the Eastern Caribbean.

The Secretariat’s proposals were presented by OECS Director General Dr. Len Ishmael and Tourism Officer Ms. Daphne Vidal.

Similar meetings on this yachting proposal will be held in the other OECS Member States.
