OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, September 29^th, 2010. The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) have undertaken to embark upon a process of formal engagement in a number of areas of mutual interest. The two parties gave this undertaking via the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation in a wide range of fields including Law Enforcement, Agriculture and Fisheries, Tourism, Health, Environment, Education, Emergency Management, Sports, Art and Culture, and Historical Preservation.

OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, September 9^th, 2010. On Tuesday, 7^th September, 2010, Her Excellency Dr. Len Ishmael, Director General of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), was conferred the prestigious Order of Merit of Spain. The award was presented to the Director General by His Excellency Jesus Silva, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the OECS, on behalf of His Majesty King Juan Carlos, at an official ceremony held at the Bay Gardens Hotel. Among the guests present at the ceremony were distinguished members of the Diplomatic Corps, Nobel Laureate the Honourable Derek Walcott, and senior staff members of the OECS Secretariat.

Castries, St Lucia, Wednesday June 09, 2010. On the date marking its 29^th Anniversary, the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) will be taking a historic step in deepening the integration of the region. From June 17-18^th, 2010, Heads of Government from the nine (9) OECS Member States will convene in Castries, St. Lucia, to participate in the Fifty-first (51^st) Meeting of the OECS Authority and to undertake the signing of a revised Treaty which will further enhance the organisation’s core value of regional unity.
