The route proved very tough for the premiere long distance runner and eight times winner of this event, Pamenos Ballantyne of St. Vincent & The Grenadines, who could only muster a fourth place finish behind Curtis Cox of Trinidad & Tobago. So at the finish, it was Zepherinus, Victor, Curtis and Pamenos for the males. For the females, it was first place honours for Shermin Lasaldo of Trinidad & Tobago who came in with a time of one hour thirty-nine minutes and eighteen seconds (1:39:18), followed by Lisa Daniel of St. Vincent & The Grenadines (1:43:27). The third place female was Kenisha Pascall of Grenada (1:50:39). In the Male Veterans category, fifty year old Leonard Ballantyne came in first in a time of 1:47:05, followed by fifty-two year old Ernest King in a time of 2:04:40 and fifty-eight year old Raymond Bernard 2:35:41 in third place. There was only one Female Veteran in the person of forty-seven year old Venice Wattley of St. Kitts & Nevis, and she came in a time of 2:29:50. The oldest finishing participant was fifty-eight year old Raymond Bernard of St. Vincent & The Grenadines. The first 10 finishers were as follows:

Zepherinus “Knockay” Joseph valiantly defended his Title at the NemWil OECS Half Marathon held in St. Vincent & The Grenadines on Sunday, November 15, 2009. Out of a field of participants from St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana, Zepherinus breasted the tape at least one minute and eight seconds ahead of Victor Ledgers in second place.
