(Thursday September 22nd, 2011 OECS Secretariat Castries St. Lucia)  A consignment of antiretroviral medicines, valued at EC$272, 000 for treating patients with HIV-AIDS in the OECS countries arrived in Saint. Lucia on Wednesday, 21st September 2011.

The Canadian-based Trinity Global Support Foundation (TGSF) provided the donation, which was initiated by the Rotary Club of Gros-Islet (RCSL), and coordinated by the OECS Pharmaceutical Procurement Service (OECS/PPS) which is based at the OECS Secretariat.

The Rotary Club of Gros-Islet provided a grant of EC$6000 which will be used to transship the donation to the other eight OECS Member States.

Head of Unit at the OECS PPS Francis Burnett says this collaborative effort between the TGSF, RCSL and OECS/PPS represents an excellent model of public private partnership (PPP) to mitigate the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the resource-constraint OECS countries.
