The OECS Environment and Sustainable Development Unit (ESDU) has assisted a school in St.Lucia as part of the Unit’s Environmental Education Training and Awareness Programme. ESDU has provided a package of reading material on the use and management of natural resources to the Babonneau Secondary School.

One of the Units at the OECS Secretariat has a new name.The department, which is responsible for coordinating sub-regional programmes in Natural Resources Management, has been changed from the Natural Resources Management Unit NRMU to the Environment and Sustainable Development Unit ESDU. The OECS Natural Resources Management Unit (NRMU) is assisting Anguilla with financing for two environmental projects. The Anguilla Government and the NRMU on Friday signed memoranda of Understanding for funding the Big Springs National Park Project in the island’s harbour and the East End Palm and Conservation Project.
