Susanna De Beauville-Scott - Project Coordinator
Susanna ScottSusanna De Beauville-Scott received her secondary school education atthe St Joseph's Convent in Saint Lucia. In 1990, following a two year stint as a CXC level science teacher, she pursuedher first degree at St Mary's University, Halifax, Canada and graduated with a Bachelorof Science (major biology).   Later, MsScott also obtained a Master of Science degree in Natural Resource Managementfrom the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill Campus).

Ms Scott went on to serve fifteen years in the PublicService (Saint Lucia), where she was employed as a fisheries biologist. During this period, Ms Scott was responsiblefor several departmental programmes. While working as a fisheries biologist MsScott also served as project coordinator for a four-year coastal zone management project(EU funded), which was assigned the task of developing a coastal zonemanagement policy for Saint Lucia. Thisproject led to the establishment of national institutional arrangement forcoastal zone management, including an interagency coordinating mechanism withinthe Public Sector.

During her tenure with the Publicservice Ms Scott represented the Ministry on a number of regulatory andadvisory committees and also represented Saint Lucia in regional andinternational fora. She has also contributedto the development and implementation of a number of national and regionalpolicies and plans including those relating to fisheries management, integratedcoastal zone management, protected areas, biodiversity management and climatechange.

In 2008, Ms Scott tookup the position of the Project Coordinator with the OECS Secretariat for an18-month, USAID funded project: OECS Protecting the Eastern Caribbean Region'sBiodiversity. Currently, Ms Scott serves as theProject Coordinator for The World Bank funded project, OECS Protected Areas andAssociated Livelihoods.
