The OECS/EDU is an institution of the OECS Secretariat. Established in 2000, the Unit is mandated to increase exports from the region through the enhancement of the competitiveness of OECS products and services in domestic, regional and international markets. This is accomplished with a core of professional staff located at its Headquarters in Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica and close working relationships with strategic partners in other OECS states.
There is generally no charge for services, however financing arrangements may be structured differently. Clients may be required to make certain investments in infrastructure, equipment or human resources, prior to or as part of an intervention.
How does my company qualify for assistance
The EDU usually provides assistance using a cluster-based approach. Firms are clustered into a sector and may be further sub-categorized based on size. When a firm contacts the EDU or is contacted by the EDU, a Technical Assistance plan will be developed from which interventions will be planned. Firms will usually need to meet certain requirements based on categorization and the type of assistance requested or required.
