Castries, St. Lucia, Nov 20th 2007: OECS Tourism Ministers gather in Montserrat this week for the 6th Meeting of the OECS Council of Tourism Ministers.
High on the agenda for discussion is a report on the increase in regional airfares on visitor arrivals in OECS Member States. The Ministers will also review factors to be considered in establishing a Regional Hospitality Arts Centre. The meeting will examine joint marketing initiatives among the member states and will try to reach agreement on a revised OECS Secretariat tourism work programme.
The Ministers meeting on Friday 23rd , will be held at the Montserrat Cultural Centre. It will be preceded on Thursday 22nd by a technical meeting of OECS Directors of Tourism.
The Ministerial meeting will be chaired by the Chief Minister of Montserrat, Dr. Lowell Lewis.
