BRAZILLIAN DIPLOMAT PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE OECS SECRETARIAT
(Castries, May 08, 2012) Tuesday May 8th 2012 marked another special occasion at the OECS Secretariat where His Excellency Joaquim Augusto Whitaker Salles, presented his credentials to Dr. Len Ishmael, Director General of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, and became the second Ambassador/Resident Representative of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the OECS. Ambassador Whitaker Salles was preceded by H.E. João Batista Cruz who ended his tour of duty earlier this year. Read more

Meeting of OECS Leaders of Parliamentary Opposition Hailed a Success
Castries, May 05, 2012, Leaders of the Parliamentary Opposition in the Member States of the OECS ended a successful meeting in Saint Lucia on May 04, 2012 at which they discussed issues relating to the operationalisation of the OECS Economic Union. The meeting was convened at the instance of Dr the Hon. Kenny Anthony, Chairman of the OECS Authority and Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, and was attended by opposition Parliamentarians from all Member States except Montserrat and the BVI. OECS National Statistics Offices to benefit from Capacity Building in Household Survey Methods
OECS Secretariat, Castries, St. Lucia, April 17th 2012, The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Secretariat is conducting an OECS training workshop in St. Lucia, on Household Survey Methods, from 16th – 20th April, 2012 Staff of National Statistics Offices in OECS countries, are among those expected to significantly benefit from the five day training exercise on building capacity in Household Survey Methods. Eastern Caribbean States Foreign Ministers attend ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly

BRUSSELS. Three Ministers of Foreign Affairs from three Eastern Caribbean States participated in the bi-annual intersessional ACP and Joint ACP-EU Parliamentary Assembly that was held in Brussels, capital of the European Union. Honourable Sam Condor of St. Kitts and Nevis, Honourable Alva Baptiste of Saint Lucia and Honourable Dr. Douglas Slater of St. Vincent and the Grenadines attended meetings from 19 – 22 March 2012 at the ACP House and at the European Parliament with Members of African, Caribbean and Pacific national Parliaments as well as Members of the European Parliament.
